The Cyber Claims Report 2025 highlights a structural shift in European cyber risk. Claims frequency increased across Stoïk’s portfolio, reflecting not just more attacks, but a transformation in detection, reporting, and response.

The 2025 data show:

  • Faster, more automated cyberattacks
  • Broader detection through Managed Detection and Response
  • Earlier and more systematic use of cyberinsurance

Business Email Compromise and fraud remain the primary volume drivers, exploiting everyday business workflows and increasingly enhanced by AI-assisted deception.

Ransomware accounts for fewer cases but remains the most severe threat. The difference between containment and full disruption is often measured in minutes, making 24/7 detection and disciplined incident response decisive.

Looking ahead, regulatory pressure such as NIS2, the operationalization of cyberinsurance, and the growing use of artificial intelligence will continue to reshape the cyber risk landscape in 2026.
