1. DV cameras
To communicate
with DV camera (import, playback, output) from VideoMan Capturer you need
DV camera connected to the IEEE 1394 (also known as FireWire) controller
installed in your PC. VideoMan Capturer will exchange data and commands
with these devices using drivers available in your system. We recommend
that you use drivers offered by standard Windows Add New Hardware wizard
when you install IEEE 1394 controller. Standard Windows drivers for IEEE
1394 controller and DV camera (Imaging device)are:
- 1394 Bus Controller\Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host
Controller
- Microsoft DV camera and VCR
Compatibility problems may occur if you choose to install drivers different
than standard Windows drivers, for examples drivers provided by software
bundled with IEEE1394 controller.
Known problems and troubleshooting:
Studio
DV (Pinacle system)
drivers:
Microsoft DV camera and VCR
1394 Bus Controller\Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
| problem: |
- Driver
reports wrong numbers of captured and dropped frames due to incorrect
data transmission from Idropped Frames interface
- High number of dropped frames during writing of video to the disk
- Application runs slowly
- Preview is not available immediately after Capture-Movie command |
| troubleshooting: |
- Install
DirectX8 and DV Update (dx80bd.exe), this will correct behavior of
IdroppedFrames and will enable Preview on Capture-Movie command (even
before Capture-Start command) |
| problem: |
- Driver
is not transmitting video to camera |
| troubleshooting: |
- Check
Off and then again On DMA option in disk properties (Win 95/98/Me) |
| remark: |
- After
installation of DirectX8 and DV Update driver (QDV.DLL) causes memory
access error when video preview window is hidden if preview window
size is smaller than image size of DV decoder. |
Pinnacle
