STOIK Imaging welcomes users of PictureMan 5.0 PRO to download free update which installs new Remove Reel Scratches filter and two new macro scripts to process heavy dust defects in scanned positive or negative films. Update can be installed over full or not-yet-expired trial version.

New Fully Automatic Remove Reel Scratches filter

This new filter automatically removes horizontal (or vertical) scratches left by reel mechanism in scanner, film camera, or film processing machine. It works much faster than universal Scratch Removal filter of PictureMan for this particular type of defects. Remove Reel Scratches filter appears in PictureMan 5.0 PRO menu Tools-Enhancement.

NOTE Remove Reel Scratches filter cannot be used for batch processing of multiple files using PictureMan 5.0 PRO automation tools such as Macros or external scripting. Use of Remove Reel Scratches for batch processing requires additional license from STOIK Imaging. Please contact info@stoik.com for details.

New Scripts

Heavy Black Dust macro and Heavy White Dust macro

These two scripts process scanned photos with repetitive application of Dust Cleaner filter with different parameters adapted for removal of heavy dark- or white-colored dust/spot defects. To use these macros:

- Open Macros Window using menu View-Window

- In Macros Window run menu File-Load and Run command and choose Heavy Black Dust or Heavy White Dust macro.
