SmartSharp filter

 

New SmartSharp tool is an advanced modification of the popular unsharp mask filter with threshold.

This tool enhances contours and brings out more details without increase of noise and thus can be used for sharpening of noisy images.

Radius sets size of the filter. Smaller radius is needed for sharpening fine contours.

Strength sets contrast of contours. The larger the parameter, the stronger will be the sharpening of contours.

Threshold determines the contrasts of details to be processed. The smaller this parameter, the less contrast details will be sharpened. Decreasing of this parameter should be made with some caution because this can noticeably increase noise.

Feather allows to smooth edges between sharpened and unprocessed areas for more natural-looking result.
