explains how to use PictureMan tools for automatic and manual removal of
dot-like and linear defects such as dust and scratches from scanned photos.
1. For automatic removal of dust defects visible on the original scanned photo (left) run TOOLS->PROCEEDINGS ->MEDIAN FILTER. The example below is made with filter size 3x3

For precise manual removal of scratches (see marked with arrow on the left
picture) use Patch tool (menu TOOLS->FILL AREA->PATCH FILL). Set appropriate
size of Patch brush and 'paint' with this tool over the defect.
