Automatic De-interlacing

This sections explains how to automatically remove interlacing defect in frames captured from video.

Odd and even lines in a frame captured from  video belong to different 'fields' of TV signal frame. In general case scenes on both fields are not identical since there is some time separation between both. Hence the captured frames feature characteristic 'interlacing' pattern (see original below).

To correct this defect use deinterlace filter of PictureMan from TOOLS->ENHANCEMENT->DEINTERLACE.

PictureMan will automatically decide how the odd and even lines in picture should be shifted against each other to compensate the interlacing. Example below was made with Deinterlace parameters size 8, shift 4, Shift Even.
