Interface - Working with multiple tools at once

Keep mulitple tools on desktop
Retouching pictures requires multiple tools
Typical tasks of image editing usually require operation with multiple tools. Picture Man offers dozens of specialized tools to correct defects of different types - scratches, dust, noise, wrong colors.

Keep your instruments ready for use on desktop
PictureMan offers a straightforward and logical method: open all necessary tools at once and process image or it parts independently with appropriate tool.

Easily experiment with different tool parameters using multiple copies of the same tool
  • Many powerful filters such as Scratch Removal, Dust Cleaner, or Sigma filter have several parameters which need to be adjusted for better results. In Picture Man you can open several copies of the same tool and use them independently to find the optimal set of parameters.

Get instant preview when you modify selection or click on different tool dialog

  • Take advantage of action-selection independence provided by Picture Man. If you press Preview button on tool dialog, you will see preview of tool action in active selection. If you modify selection, the preview will be automatically calculated for new selection. Further, if you have multiple tools with activated Preview and you switch between them, the Preview will again be automatically updated to show tool action preview.

Use tool dialogs on desktop as 'palette' of filters - and apply filters with a brush

  • Many retouching operations require manual work. You may choose to use Patch and Gaussian Blur in Brush mode to manually correct scratches and defects instead of automatic processing with other filters. Open Tools-Fill Area-Patch and Tools-Processings-Gaussian Blur. Choose Pen selection in both. Now you can apply filters with brush and use tool dialogs on desktop as virtual palette - dip brush in Patch and apply Patch, or dip in Gaussian Blur and apply blur.

Save and reuse workspace

  • When you do different specific tasks, such as restoration of old photos, or preparing graphics for web pages, you use different set of tools and tool parameters. Save these specialized sets of tools using Save Workspace command of Picture Man. Next time you open Workspace all necessary tools for your task will be ready on desktop.

Process multiple pictures

  • Since all tools can be kept open on desktop an applied with single click, it is easy to reapply certain processing procedure to multiple images. This task is further facilitated by Macros tool - keep Macros window open and it will record all processings and edits you apply. You can easily reapply your actions to another image by activating Macros window and pressing F5. Read more about Automation
